Texas is a debtor freindly state. But, they absolutely can take you to court. They can not garnish your wages, and your homestead is safe. Protect your bank account. If a CA attorney can convince a judge that you will take your money out of the bank to avoid paying a debt, your account, they can freeze your account before they get a judgement. Protect your assets and tell them to go for it!!
