Thanks for all your replies.

In answer to some of your questions, My husband and I are both in our mid thirties. We own a house, so we won't be needing good credit to buy one. As far as needing credit in the future, we do have two credit cards now -- for emergencies -- plus we have lots of cash 'under the mattress' since we don't give it to the CC's. We also don't keep more money in the checking account than we are willing to lose if it's frozen.

In Texas, Insurance can't be cancelled because of Bad Credit. I fully expect to have bad credit for 7 years and everything that entails. That's a small price to pay compared to the thousands I owe to Creditors.

I just feel bad when people are stressed out because they receive a bill out of the blue. I suppose if you have good credit, then you are afraid because the creditors have something to hold over you. Well, after your credit is down the tubes then there isn't much you can lose! =)

We had perfect credit for over 15 years and the funny thing is that I feel less stressed out now and have much more money. You know, for the extras like clothing and actually getting to take my pets to the vet.
