Okay J (and all) this is where it is now(Sorry it's long). I called the court to find out what the finding was in my case. Tehy said since neither party showed, the judge threw it out. I looked closer at my paperwork and noted 2 things; first, an old credit report lists the date the orig card issuer charged it off in 1997. Assest lists it as 2000. Second, I spoke to a lawyer over the phone and mentioned the letter Assest sent to me concerning our "agreement" to pay $20/month (interest totals more than $25/month). He asked if I signed it, I wasn't sure. I called court; no record of it. Called Assest, no record of it. They say the agreement is "made" by me sending them a payment. I'm pretty sure I don't want to send them anymore money. Lawyer says they can still sue me, but that if they do I need to raise question of them concerning SOL and reageing the account in front of a judge and have them explain. Does this make sense?
