When you say "forms," do you mean the Cease and Desist forms? If so, use whatever account number they claim it is. Check your credit report for a reference to this alleged account under Whitewing's name, if they didn't give it to you verbally. It *may* be there, and if it *is* there then you have a violation of the FDCPA to hit them with. They're not supposed to report accounts that predate the seven year reporting period.....but perhaps they're just stupid. The onus is on them to prove you owe something, not for you to provide them with the information.

Second, don't talk to them. They called you so they wouldn't leave a paper trail to beat them over the head with, and also to try to cow you into sending them money. You owe them NOTHING, and there is nothing they can possibly do on a legal basis to collect a penny.

Third, tell them to go wizz up a rope. Whether the account was closed satisfactorily or not, trying to collect on a 20 year-old debt would get them laughed right out of ANY court in the land. I doubt that you need an attorney to defend yourself from such a ridiculous claim.
