Served with papers? Did you check in your local courthouse to see if there has been a law suit filed against you, worse, if they got a default judgement. When I stopped paying I had lots of phone calls and letters. After awhile it slowed down. The accounts get assigned to CAs, and sold to CAs. Hard to say. A lot depends on what assets they can find. What your CR looks like. They also look for assets boat registration, vacation homes, do they have your banking info? If they do, change banks. THIS IS MY PHILOSOPHY......You have bad credit, and you could be sued. Protect your assets NOW. Not later, that is too late. If you have some money, it should not be in a bank account in your name. Check your state bk and judgement exemptions (they are the same) and get whatever you have into exemptions, or get it out of sight. Don't talk to CAs. Ignore them. The phone is their tool, take it away from them. Watch caller ID, let the machine pick up. Whatever works for you. DON'T apply for any new credit. OPT OUT now. As Why chat stated on another thread, Hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst.
