registering a car

a post below made me wonder about something. My fiance and I bought a used car for $2,000('95 chrysler new yorker) 2months ago. Because the insurance is in my name, I had to register it in my name. we paid cash for it w/ his bonus money. If a ca is looking for assest, would they onsider this an asset? obviously the car is nearly 10years old-mint condition but they wouldn't know that.
