Hi, although I did file ch 7, I really don't know. Hopefully Lady or Why Chat will answer you. Lady is the bk expert, and why chat knows it ALL. You can e-mail Why Chat directly at
http:/whychat@webtv.net. He/she will does answer e-mails. I've never seen anything like that as an exemption, I would think it might be considered income. So,if you added that to your income and your expenses exceed your income, which is sounds like they do, I don't think it will be a problem. But, I am just guessing. Lady, Why Chat or one of the attorneys will post to you later. Are you doing this pro se? I would, if at all possible do it with an attorney. I thought I had a pretty good grasp on bk law, but my attorney knew a few little things that I did not know, and he really saved me money. Maybe even a para legal or legal aid.
Also, it is very important to claim ALL OF YOUR EXPENSES. That is a common mistake, people tend to under estimate their expenses. Don't forget things like car maintenance, inspection, dentist, insurance payments(life and medical)out of pocket for medical (even if it costs you 5 bucks to see a doctor- you have 2 kids) Look at your check book ledger for the past year or so. Good Luck
