Happens all the time, you apply for a mortgage and they come out of the woodwork because they figure you want the mortgage and you will pay. Your mortgage company may require that you pay. Otherwise, nope, you don't have to pay them. Don't know who they are, but they are bad debt buyers and they are all scumbage garbage.
