Credit Card Charge Off

I have an account w/Citibank that as of May 10th was to be "charged off". I have not made a payment in the past 6 months, obviously. The balance is $6000. I got a call from the CA today and told them I could not make a payment at this time (I'm not working). He said he would "notify Citibank to take action". I'm not scared (should I be?), just curious as to what happens next. Can someone give me some advice on what happens now and how to handle it?
