It's possible, but not probable, that they might put a lien on the car to color the title, just so you can't sell the car. But they'd have to get a judgment first.

But you just bought it, right? :-) Big stinking deal. You'll have time to contest it or claim your exemptions.

Just don't total it out in a wreck where it would need to be salvaged. ;-)
