My trustee was really nice. I never saw a judge. Nobody cared how many TVs I had. My attorney told me that any ONE item could be valued at 400.00 at garage sale prices. So, for most of us, are furniture, TV, computers, DVDs and so on don't mean doodly to the trustee. I went to the creditors meeting, no creditors showed up, they usually don't. I answered a few questions under oath, and in about 10 minutes, it was all over. I recieved my discharge in the mail a few months later. That was it!! Just thought I'd mention that. I live in a big city, and it really wasn't a big deal. I made sure that anybody that I cared about knew about the bankrupcy, it can never come back to haunt me that way either. BUT, I am near retirement age, and some things just aren't important to me anymore. Especially credit!! I think the bottom line is the stress level. After I filed bk, it was over. I didn't have to watch caller ID anymore. I know that if anyone bothers me now they are in violation of Federal Bk law, and that is a good feeling. Just my thoughts on the subject.
