This all sound a little fishy to me, but if you checked and there is a judgement in Virginia against you, then maybe there is. Since you sent a valadation request, you said, you have not heard anything. Maybe the attorney there figured since you were not going to role over, and just pay him, it was not worth the effort. I believe a judgement in one state has to be perfected in the state you now live in (Alabama) before they can do anything to you there. Hopefully someone else will chime in and verify that for you. If that is the case you should be notified before they do anything. I think that is how it works.
Sounds like to me the whole thing may just blow over.
