If you have a copy of a credit report that shows the date the account went into default, show only that as proof that the account is beyond the SOL.

A credit report is not proof that the account is yours. It could be that you were only an authorized user (in which case you are not legally liable for the debt), or that the credit entry was a mistake, or possibly it was even the result of ID theft.

It's up to the CA to prove the debt is yours with a signed application or contract. Don't give them the proof they may not have by trying to prove an expired SOL.
