Can they take my (paid for) home for unsecured credit card

Im in North Carolina and due to divorce, owe money to unsecured credit cards I cant pay. I do own my home free and clear (no mortgage). One of my collection agencies says they can take my house since I dont have a mortgage on it. Is this true? Please email me at uniqd@yahoo.com and/or send me links to find my answer.
