I suspect that a lien might *not* expire at all. The idea, as you may be aware, is that the judgement must be paid off before the property can be transfered to a new owner. Perhaps the thing to do is talk to the current owner, point out the lien, and insist that they either pay it off, or that they reduce the price by that amount.

Maybe talk to a real estate agent or even a lawyer specializing in real estate. Also contact the county clerk's office or the county assessor's office, or wherever would have the official property ownership records on file (containing the lien), and see what they say about whether it can ever expire or not.
