Gulf South Credit - didnt hold their end of the deal

After my divorce 4 years ago, my ex filed bankrupcy. My divorce decree did not state the words "hold harmless" where the listed debts were concerned. Two accounts landed in the hands of GULF STATE CREDIT. I received the harassing phone calls day in and day out. The spoke to ANYONE including my father and my boss about my account with them. Finally an agreement was made to make a settlement, since these debts were really my ex husbands, I was listed as a joint owner. I paid the debt settlement via electronic check over the phone. They agreed on the phone to erase this from my credit report. NOW I am house hunting and looking at my credit, as I did not want it reviewed "to many" times for fear this would disrupt my "recovery period". NOW I get my credit report and it shows GULF STATE CREDIT with the TWO outstanding balances and that the accounts are ACTIVE! IS there anyway that I can get this taken off???
AND just for the record, a Mr. Marc Monjos from Gulf State Credit ONCE told me to "go get on Food Stamps, sell them and pay this F**cking Debt"!

Can anyone give me advice into getting this off of my report.

Thanks to Anyone who can help!!!

Gala
