I would not sleep on this and make sure these people have an approperiate means to contact you via certified mail, I got sued. I have learned a lot from this mess and I will tell you to read up on this site. Your credit card is considered an open account in California which leaves 4 years for this NCO to sue you from the time your account went delinquent ( if you lived in Ca when you went delinquent ) every state is different. This will stay on your credit 7 years after your charge off date or "last pay" which is reflected on your credit report. Read this www.cardreport.com/credit-problems/time.html Good luck and watch these guys, I have been informed by several lawyers "this is how these companies make money......and they will find a similar name somewhere in your state and send certified mail to that address and not yours" Take it for what is worth...they did it to me
