Mistaken identity

Can someone please help? There are collectors calling my house and sending me notices that I owe $10,000-15,000. I have the same name as the person they are looking for, but a different SS#. These collectors have my phone # and address though and keep hounding me even though I am the wrong person.

I am worried that my credit report will be negatively effected by this mistaken identity. How can I find out if my credit report has been damaged and what is the best way to remedy the situation? Thanks!
