For obvious reasons I'd rather not go into specific details on a public board, but yes, it was in Cook County and the plaintiff was MCM. If you do a search for my posts, you'll find further details about what actually happened.

However, I would strongly recommend you take time to go to some of the hearings. The bad debt collectors seem to favor the 11th floor courtrooms, and you can walk in before 9:30 am to watch.

I didn't get a hearing on the return date. The clerks stamped my appearance form and gave me a hearing date about two weeks out. On the hearing date, I showed up but didn't go to trial. My guess is because I contested the complaint and told the attorney I was NOT going to agree to payments and was awaiting their proof. They didn't have anything, obviously, so they set the trial date another ten weeks later.

I heard not one peep out of them for the ten weeks before trial. When I was called to the bench, they immediately moved for dismissal.
