12 Chase Manhattan/Chase NA ???

Back in February, I sent a C&D letter to IMC Financial who supposedly bought a charge off Chase Account (charge off June, 1998). IMC sent me a nasty letter stating I still owe them the money and they are not affiliated with Chase Manhattan. When looking over my credit report today, I noticed that a 12 Chase Manhattan popped up with a balance, Chase Manhattan had no balance and IMC Financial had a balance (All the same account numbers and different balances). What do I do next...what letters do I sent. Is 12 Chase and Chase Manhattan the same? I heard Chase is not too friendlt!!! Thanks for all your help. PS I'm in Pennsylvania and SOL is 4 years.
