Use court records as early warning system. Accept letter, sign by drawing line on slip. Ducking certified can be evidence. Against you.
Example, lice who did my relative out of an estate ducked a certified letter, I received it back, refused. But, when serious, you send copy via general mail. Lice received that copy, read it, sent it to my relative, whom they have for years unduly influenced. Guess what relative does? He sends it to me, with telling marginal notes. Beautiful. Now we have refusal of certified letter, but surreptitiously using general copy to influence their mark, thinking I wouldn't find out. I did. Marginal notes provided good intel re fraudulent scheme using relative's generosity to get them off hook with - you guessed it - banks and 'collections professionals'. Delicious. Just peachy dandy.
If you don't reply to CRRS letter, they'll think you've nothing to lose, nothing for them to take.
Actions of lice in my circumstance indicate they've much to lose. In time, of course, they will. Not nice to steal lives, while coveting riches. "And that goes for you, 'Hughie', I've not forgotten the year you stole from this unworthy scribe, at behest of Mr. Poofterboy lawyer and his fellow scabies up north, detrimental effects noted by physicians, among others." Sorry, one digresses. Can't be helped.

Helpfully,
