Keep this in mind. MCM does NOT take assignment of debts for creditors. It PURCHASES bad debts then re-ages the date on your credit report. If your credit reports shows Midland opened the account 10/99, then that is the date that they purchased it, not the date that it was charged off. The charge-off occurred at least six months before the date on the Midland tradeline.

Look at the Midland tradeline and it should state who the ORIGINAL CREDITOR was. Then look for a TL from that ORIGINAL CREDITOR. If it shows the same date as Midland's, then they've fraudulently re-aged the entry in your credit report and you have a violation of the FCRA to countersue them with. But if the date is correct on the OC's tradeline, you can calculate the SOL from that entry.
