MCM is famous for getting "substituted service" that wouldn't stand the light of day. They'll throw a summons out a window and call it "substituted service."

I was served improperly by MCM, but I didn't let that stop me. They claimed proper "substituted service" and would have received a default if I had ignored it.

Better to stand your ground and fight them in court. I've only seen a couple of default judgment for MCM vacated in my court, so it may be risky to take that route.
