First thing that comes to my mind is that you are in Texas, and your home (if you own one) is protected from judgement and Texas is a non garnishment state. BUT, you need to protect your banking info. If you have ever on this account with your current bank accunt, they have your info. So, either close or leave just a little money in your current account, open a new account at a different bank. Never ever give your banking info to a CA/CA attorney. In Texas, since the homestead is protected, and it is a non garnishment state, IF A CA CAN CONVINCE A JUDGE that you will take the money out of your bank account in order to avoid paying the debt. The judge CAN allow a freeze of your bank account before they get a judgement. Just a word of warning.......best protect your money. Send limited cease and desist letter, so that they can only contact you by mail. My tactic was to Ignore CAs. Totally and completely. The lie and threaten, but unless they think they can collect (if you have assets that they can seize) they most likely will not sue. No guarantees. SOL is 4 years. Lie low, and hope for the best.
