im not sure but if you sell your house, i think the money will go to the judgement first. i know when we re-fied, we had to pay anything charge offs or judgements on our credit report. i, too , have no one to be on a checking account. open one and keep like 25-50 $$ in it, is what i do. then i can cash checks, cause those cashing places take wayyyy too much. depending on where that5,000 comes from, it may have to go to the judgement. if you only cashed something, all they can do is take the 25$ in the account. it also shows you arent hiding assets..hehe...cause , "judge, this is my account. its all i have"
