I have had several harassing type phone calls at my home within the last month or so. The calls are from someone saying they are from a law firm & looking for my mother n law. Each time I recieve these calls I request to be taken off of their "list" as I have absolutely nothing to do with my Mother n' Laws financial obligations and ask not to be called again. My M&L says she didnt give our # to them...so... I think they got it from the phone directory (we have same last name). I was informed that they are looking for my M&L & that I know her & they want her phone#. The person calling today said I should give them her # & they would then stop calling me...I thought a minute & decided as rude & evil as they are I am not going to make a deal with the devil....so I told him to shove it. I got a call back a few minutes later saying "the calls are just beginning" & they hung up. These people are extremely rude, they upset me, upset my child and are harassing my family for something we have no control over. I have now called the phone company to get some kind of caller id deluxe placed on our phone as to stop these calls. So, now the calls are also costing me financially. What type of recourse does someone like us who are innocent bystander who are just stuck in the middle have? The persons calling are fom NY & we are in FL. So legally can anything be done? I dont think I want to just let this slip by. I want to do something about it. I cannot believe human beings talk to others this way & that their company allows them to do so!!!!
...I just do not know what to do.
By the way...the company that is calling goes by
GIOVE LAW OFFICE. I am not sure if this is a true law office or what. I can find nothing on the net about them & when I asked the person that called me last what the address was...all he would give me is a PO box & said it is in Niagara Falls NY. Does anyone have any info on them????
