I'm a Florida lawyer besides being a NC lawyer. Individual cases are not enough reward for the amount of work, but I've been thinking about starting some class actions in FL. If these guys sent your MIL a letter that violates the law, they probably did it to lots of others. But at least send them a cease-communication letter and probably they'll leave you alone.
