Well, I don't know the definitive answer, I hope someone else has that. but I do know that fico doesn't compute the score the same for everyone, it depends upon what model you fall into as to what accounts are going to be counted and how much. I do know that it isn't guaranteed that an old account won't count against you....some models are going to count that old account...but pretty much under every model recent activity is the most important. and its the general consensus if you filed bankruptcy, the recent activity after bankruptcy, assuming about 2 or 3 years have past...is going to be considered the most important, and a single delinquency could hammer your score, as being a sign that you are going back into your old (bankruptcy causing) habits. since I did file bankruptcy a few years ago, that is the model I generally try to collect information about....
