I have been reading the advice given at this website for about a month now and I think that you guys are all great. One of the major tips that you guys give is to make sure you close your checking account or have it pretty much empty if there is a judgement against you or a possible judgement. It's also recommended opening up another checking account but with someone else as the primary. Here are my questions: Isn't it considered a joint checking account even if you are not the primary? Can they still go after your account even if you aren't the primary? Is it best to open an account in just your spouses name?

I'm hoping to not get a judgement against me but I'm taking the necessary precautions to KEEP the little money that I do have!

Thanks,

Kim
