I recently obtained a new copy of my credit report, and found that there was a collection agency who reported that I owed 700 on a credit card to CITI. Elsewhere on my report, the CITI had reported that the "account was closed at the credit grantors request" in 4/2000. Im in Texas and the SOL is 4 years. I would like to get this off my credit report, my question is should I send the CA a validation letter, or just go for the jugular and send the SOL letter. Is this worth my time, or I am just stirring up a hornets nest?
