I have received a letter from Cambece attorneys and phone regarding a debt of which the origninal debt was 5,000 in the last two years it has gone up to 8,000 due to adding interest of 115.00 every week is what they told me. They just bought this from someone else who had it and when I would send a payment it would go to Collect America.
They also call and say they have a file on me and I must call by 3p.m. They want to settle for $5,000 however, I don't have it. Told me to ask family and friends for it. How likley are they to sue? I live in Virgina the original debt was from 2002. They aren't willing to set up a payment plan. Any help would be apprecitated.
