Next Thursday I have a pre-trial hearing. Capitol One is sueing me and they are using the Stillman Law Office in Michigan. I have sent them letters telling them my circumstance and what I could pay monthly. I also told them that I needed a reply in writing no phone calls. I sent all my correspondence to them certified mail. I even sent them a $25.00 money order and they did cash it but they never responded to any of my letters. When I received the summons, I called them and asked to speak to a person who actually signed on the letters. He informed me that Capital One would not let him settle for anything less than $110 a month. I said that was impossible and if I could pay that I would be in this situation with them. So I said...."See ya in court" and proceeded to file my answer with the court. Well the Stillman Law Office called last week and again today. So what do you guys think that could be about? Do I dare call them back?
Just a few facts: I live in Michigan. The original debt was $500.00 which is now $1300 or so!
