We just went something similar with my husband and MY Chase account. He had been added as an authorized user, but was only supposed to be able to make payments over the phone. They dinked his credit report for my late payments. In talking to a supervisor at Chase, she indicated that even though they had mistakenly added him as an authorized user, it SHOULD NOT be on his credit report. Chase was contacting the credit bureaus to remove him as an authorized user, and we have to send a letter to their (Chase's) Credit Reporting Department stating that he was only an authorized user and not responsible for the debt and they SHOULD in turn contact the CBs. We have to check back in 45 days to see if they did indeed remove this from his report. Hope this helps....
