I filed bk a year ago. No, they are not going to force you to sell our big screen TV or anything. I am in Pa and my attorney told me that any ONE item could be valued at up to 400.00 garage sale prices. If you bought the TV at Sears, it is possible that they can show up at your creditors hearing and demand that you return the TV. If you bought it with their charge. Awhile back, Sears was showing up and giving consumers a hard time, but they were fined and they don't seem to be pulling that one anymore. They didn't show up at my creditors meeting. Actually, most likely, nobody will show up at your crditors meeting. Very unlikely that anyone will show up at your creditors meeting. Bankrupcy tips. Don't try to hide assets. Don't lie to the trustee, don't try to hide anything. My trustee was a very nice man. There is a lot of paper work that your attorney will take care of. I am in a big city, so, I give attorney info. He did the paperwork and filedl I showed up at the creditors meeting, answer a few question under oath. Mainly, name, social and was everthing on the paperwork true. Was I in any involved in any law suits at this time. Just answer the questions honestly, but don't offer additional info. Keep your answers short and to the point. In my case, I received my discharge in the mail a few months later, never had to see a judge. Hope this helps some.
