Newspapers are full of colums where people request advice about credit card debt and their inherently high interest rates and how it seemed he would never be able to get out of debt. These
requests always catch my eye because I too am in the ranks of burdened debtors.

I tried to negotiate a better rate for my debt, yet
try as I might, I found myself powerless in dealing
with the banks. They know they are in the driver’s
seat and that is how they act – even though “they” are
people like you and I; some of who undoubtedly have
their own share of debt.

They did offer a short-term low-interest program but
that rate shot right back up at the end of the
program, no matter that I’d made all payments on time.
That left me even more frustrated, angry, and
powerless.

Like most people, I do NOT want to go the bankruptcy
route. Yet the exorbitant interest rates, coupled
with my salary level, means that if something doesn’t
happen soon, I’ve calculated that I’ll be paying off
this debt until the middle of 2013.

I can’t fight the banks alone. No one can. But I
know from reading the papers and listening to the news
that there are many thousands of people in similar if
not worse situations. There has got to be a way to
change the situation, for all of us.

I’ve decided to start a credit card user “federation”
if you will, where users- those of us in debt and
(more importantly) those with perfect credit, will be
able to use our combined strength in order to force
the banks to deal with us as equals, not as their
money making machines.

Please check out my website and see if it makes any
sense to you. It is a simple site and I plan to keep
it that way. Any thoughts and/or advice will be
greatly appreciated. Maybe someday you’ll even
recommend the site to your friends. The more of us there are, the more powerful we are...

Sincerely,

William Francke
