Lady is right, HE is not responsible. But the creditors can go after the estate. I paid with my dad's money, did not cost me a dime. The post said the father (who is dying) owned a house, so in order for the son to get the house in his own name, he has to go through probate. OK, don't know anything about a time limit that creditors have to file a claim. But, if there is money enough then the executor is responsible for writing the checks. Don't have a clue as to what would happen if he did not write the checks. Guess I didn't have to pay Sears and Visa. I had to keep that account open for a couple of years though, to make sure nothing else had to go through. The gas refund was the last thing, I didn't even know it was owed and it took a very long time before they sent it to me.
