being sued and am I ever scared!

Just received papers that I am being sued by a credit card company. I have no assets, very little in the bank, the car is in mine and my husbands name and we owe on that. I have no job. What happens next? I live in Kentucky. We don't even own our home. What can they take?? What can I do to prevent going to court?
