How badly have I messed myself up?

Right out of high school, I made the mistake of getting a couple of credit cards. About 4 years ago, they were charged off. Also, I have $15,000 + in medical bills in collections. I lived in Colorado, but moved to Alaska. Then, about a year ago, I moved BACK to Colorado because of family health crisis. Now, I'm back in Alaska. Also, while in Colorado for the family stuff, I was doing better financially and had lots of CAs hounding me at my grandparents' house (where I was living) SO, to get the phone to stop ringing, I started paying what I could to various CAs. Among them was Asset Acceptance for one of the old credit cards. Now, I'm back to not being able to afford anything outside of house and food. SO, did I really screw things up whereas the SOL is concerned?
