IF they get a judgement against you (which costs money for them) they can garnish up to 25% of net. However, if you loose your job or quit your job, it is up to them to obtain current employment status (you are not going to tell them) You are not going to apply for credit, so it is not going to be on your credit report. And, if they locate your new employment they must once again go through the legal proceedings to garnish. This is just good info to know. We don't recommend that you talk to CAs at all, but if you hear that kind of threat again, tell the idiot you will quit, and let him know that you know it costs money to file for garnishment, and they will have to find your employment and go through the process again and it will cost them more money. NOT SUGGESTING THAT YOU QUIT. Just some info for you to throw back at them. Sherman is a scum collector who bought your account for pennies on the dollar. By the way, how old is this account. When was the last time you paid the original creditor before the account became deliquent. Could be SOL.
