I just finished settling an account with CFC Financial LLC. It turned out to be an old phone bill of collect calls from MCI Long Distance. The total bill was $810, but CFC sent me a letter stating that they were doing a 35% discount for the month of April (tax season). I called too late, but I still got them to settle for the 35% off they suggested. Here's their address: P.O. Box 318038, Cleveland, OH 44131-8038. Phone: (877) 858-6107. They said they were collecting for SBC Ameritech, but SBC could be collecting for a long-distance company. I asked them to provide me with proof of the debt. They advised me that when the ppwk comes in, if it proves to be my debt, then full payment would be due within 3 days, or they would attack my assets (checking account). Hope this helps!
