I am 61 filed bk last year. I had an accident and could not pay the credit card debt. I charged off a lot. FAIR, nope. I contacted the creditors, I tried to work things out. My reward for that, penalities and higher interest rates. My accounts went to CAs. My account balances doubled. Nothing fair about all of that. Your choice, but if you don't watch out for yourself, beleive me, nobody else will.
