inform the company the house was given back. send a file number of the BK with a CRRR letter. call first tho and tell the company. sometimes the letters from the court do not get to the proper place in the company. in texas, if it was re-financed, they would not owe the difference in owed vs sold. where she is, she may owe the diff when the place is resold. my lawyer sucked too. i ended up doin it all myself. dont count on the lawyer, he/she obviously isnt doin their job. dont let the house sit vacant...no insurance is a violation of the contract. should it burn..she might be liable for a sh**load. contact the tax appraisal place and tell them also, it was given up in BK. good luck. that is what i would do. unusual they havent foreclosed...mine did in 3 months. lol. i cant imagine they havent taken it back yet. ALWAYS follow up in BK, lawyers dont really care. most lawyers...so no lawyer out there jumps me for generalizing.
