Proof that opt-out works?

I just filed the permanent opt-out form which came in the mail this weekend. I was wondering if anyone here who has filed the opt-out has seen proof they it works?. I know its supposed to but has anyone seen anything in their records which clue them that it works. Anyone want to share a bit of detail (nothing too specific of course).
