Don’t fill out anything for them. First, make sure they are even suing you in the proper venue. In Illinois and California, as debt buyers, they are assignees and can’t sue in small claims. From their financial statement:
Encore (MCM) acquires these portfolios at deep discounts from their face values (yeah, 2 cents on the dollar.) The Company employs a mix of collection strategies to maximize its return on investment (Apparently that means suing in the wrong courts on accounts that they bought for 2 cents on the dollar and don’t have any documentation on.) Obviously there is a lot of money involved for these crooked thieves. CEO cleared $5 million last year. Don’t make it any easier for them to steal your money.
