Michael, you are in the same boat I was in when Bronson and Migliaccio pulled the same stunt on me. What some of these collectors and so-called attorneys will do is truly amazing. Example: they will demand that you pay X amount of dollars in let's say two hours, via Western Union; and they will make threats such as filing charges against you for frauding an attorney's office or falsifying an account number. Be careful when you deal with collection agencies; they will go so far as extortion to make you pay your debt, and never ever give out your checking account number. Also, if any collector has true intentions of clearing any debt off a credit report, make sure you get that in writing; otherwise their intentions to do so is fictitious.

One more thing: if you live in different state than where Boudreau and Associates are located, then you don't have a lot to worry about. If they threaten to sue, they would be unable to do so unless the suit lies within their jurisdiction.

Obtaining an attorney would be a plus too, of course.
