Mine was also reaged. I know that now, but did not know it at the time.
I got several letters from the attorney in my state that eventually sued me.
They made it sound more like a written agreement. And it sounded like I had entered into an agreement with them. I did not.
Since I never spoke to them, I did not ask them to verify.
They claimed to have bought my debt for almost 6K, that was on the summons, and I think that would be perjury because I now know that it is not very likely.
They sued me for just under 10K, I think to keep it in small claims court, where attorneys don't go.
Since I totally ignored them, I think they figure they would get a default.
