check to see if they are bonded or licensed to collect in your state. they can hire a lawyer to sue you...they must use a lawyer licensed to practice in your state. if they own the debt, they can sue. if assigned, only the OC can sue. whew. what a course in short of CAs. and yes,, NEVER give any personal info over the phone to anyone...esp a CA. they will take every dime and more without blinkin a eye. they have no morals at all. most CAs...correction. but then , most lawyers have no morals either. so i make a correction...MOST. not all. some used car dealers wont screw you either, but you get the idea. never 100% bad in any profession.
