Ever receive a check from a creditor after default?

I received a check in the mail today from Household Finance. It's for $92 and says they have reviewed their records and they owe me a refund for Finance Charges. I haven't made a payment on this account since August 2003. I assume it's charged off but they continue to send me the normal statement. I find this strange and, of course, now way I'm gonna cash that check. Just wondering if this is some sort of trick?
