..and the reason they want a deposit isn't because your name is wrong on your credit report - unless there are derogs on there that are your father's - its because you likely have NO credit besides the truck loan. It takes 2-3 years of good history before they stop wanting deposits for everything.

Get yourself a gas-only card and pay it off, on time, every month. You will start to build your credit history and give you another trade-line.
