I posted this but when the system had trouble it wiped my post off. I became disabled in an at-home accident one year ago. and I can walk very limited with a walker (I'm 53, Arizona). I lost my job and when the money exhausted, I had to go on welfare. I'm trying to get Social Security Disability. I've got $13,000 due to CA for MBNA, plus some due to Discover, AT&T and medical bills. The medical bill collectors have given up and marked my account as uncollectivle due to hardship. The only asset I really have is my car and I need that because I am disabled and can't take a bus. Can they sue and take my car (worth about $5,000)? It won't pay all their debt. I always had excellent credit and such until I got hurt. I've had the MBNA CA people calling daily and getting really nasty. I've repeatedly told them there is no money which is true and I'm getting help from the one Catholic Charity to pay the monthly rent. They've told me they dont' care and I have to get this paid.
